01 / The short version

The short version.

I'm Wil. I race 1/8 buggy and truggy, electric and nitro, and 1/10 on carpet when the dirt freezes. Two club races a month and six to eight trophy races a year, split between Massachusetts and South Carolina. I started in 2005, took a break, and have been back at it since 2022.

Racing is the hobby. The part I actually enjoy is the whole day around it: the pits, the people, the car that finally works after three weeks of fiddling. So I bring a camera. The racers I share a heat with get photos of their cars, and the shops and brands that back me get their gear seen in real use, on a track, not on a bench.

Two things shape how I do this. I work with computers for a living and I have spent years behind a camera, so I keep setup notes, I shoot properly, and I would rather tell a brand what happened in numbers and conditions than say it "felt good". I also own PitLane Graphics, which prints the wraps, decals and pit banners, so the car and the pit look like a team that takes itself seriously.

For a shop or a brand that means an ambassador in the pits, not a logo on a body: product shown being run, photos you can use, honest feedback after each event, and a recap you can forward.

Outdoor 1/8 nitro on one of the biggest dirt tracks in New England. Top qualifier for the B-main, fifth at the flag once the nerves got in.
